Smith is well-known for her portrayal of Wanda McCullough, the wife of Bernie Mac on The Bernie Mac Show she is a Chicago native and has been acting for more than 20 years.Kellita has developed her acting abilities when cast in the play, Tell It Like It Tiz that was performed in across the U.S. for two years. Smith was frequent on the Bernie Mac Show for seven years. She also appeared on UPN Malcolm & Eddie, CBS Nash Bridges, FOX Televisions Martin, FOX Televisions Martin, the WBs Jamie Foxx Show, Sister, Sister, and NYPD Blue. Recent films include Roll Bounce, a Fox 2000 Film; King Ransom With New Line Cinema; Fox Searchlight Kingdom Come starring Whoopi goldberg; Marimax the Crossing Guard featuring Jack Nicolson.
